What you need to know about
Vocational Evaluations
If you’re being sent to see us for a Vocational Evaluation, it probably means you were injured and your injury is impacting your ability to do your job. We’re here to help! We will work with you to determine what work you can do that will not put you at risk for reinjury. Here’s how it works.
What we look at
We review your injury details, medical treatment, and recovery to understand your current abilities. This helps us build a plan for a new career that is safe for you.
Skills & Job Options
We analyze your work history and look at the skills you’ve built over the years. We identify other jobs in your local area where these skills can be used, even if you haven’t done the exact job before.
Testing & Recommendations
We might do some simple tests to see where your strengths and interests lie. Don’t worry - they are not physical! We will look at learning styles, academic retention, and career exploration.
Then, we offer suggestions to help you get back to work—whether that’s finding a new job or getting retraining for a different line of work.
This evaluation is all about finding the right path forward for you. That’s why we want to get to know you and create a plan tailored just for you that takes into account what you can do and what you want to do.
What to expect
You’ll receive a notice from our office about your appointment. We work hard to make sure our appointments start on time.
Please come to your appointment with your paperwork filled out. If you are not sure how to answer a question, you can leave it blank and we will talk through it.
At the appointment, we will have a conversation to talk through the paperwork and then take the vocational assessments.
